Frey, who held office until the summer of 1904. His successor
THE Holy Trinity English Evangelical Lutheran Church
was founded in 1899. Rev. Mr.Filtz. entered upon his
work in this church on Sept. 1st, 1899 with a membership of 50.
The first service was held in the parlors of the pastor's residence
No. 904 Garden street, on November, 1899. On February 1,
1900, the new congregation was regularly organized with 86
charter members. The Sunday School was organized Jan. 7.
1900, with 32 scholars and four teachers.
The Rev. Mr. Fultz resigned December 31, 1900, and was followed
by Rev. G.H. Behringer, D.D., who in turn resigned and
left the church in 1903. The present pastor, the Rev. C.T.
McDaniel, entered upon the work in May, 1903.
In December, 1903, the Trustees purchased for the congrega-
tion the plot of ground corner Garden and Tenth Streets and
the residence adjoining, No. 204 Tenth Street, in which services
are held at present. The church membership at present is 225:
Sunday School about 250. There arc several societies connected
with the church.
